Communication between horse and rider is an art form. The importance of a riders balance and symmetry cannot be overstated. The relationship between horse and rider forms the foundation for a harmonious partnership, influencing the horse's movement, responsiveness, and overall well-being.
The importance of the walk in classical dressage
In classical dressage, where harmony between horse and rider takes centre stage, the often-underestimated gait of walk holds profound significance. As riders strive to master the art of communication with their equine partners, the walk emerges as a fundamental element that lays the foundation for a seamless performance.
Masters of Dressage: A Brief Journey Through Time

Clinic with Shillington Riding Club May 27th
After the success of my first clinic with the Shillington Riding Club about a month ago (I know I am very slow at writing up!) I have been asked to do another one at the end of May. My second clinic will be held on Saturday 27th May at Pond Farm in Lilley. The first clinic was such a fun day so I am really looking forward to doing another one! Ion Farm in Gravenhurst kindly let us use their huge outdoor arena for the first clinic at the end of March. I had five groups of two riders and despite the really strong wind it was a very successful day. I was lucky enough to have some lovely horse and rider combinations and really enjoyed teaching everyone.

Weekend Clinic with Anna Jantscher

The first lesson Anna gave was to Dyann Clark on her horse Paddy at Mill End Equestrian
